Where I went on our
Europe 101 trip
The map on the right shows
where I ACTUALLY went on the
trip.  If you had checked this web
site before our trip you would
have seen a map that looked
vaguely similar, but of course our
plans changed multiple times as
we traveled.

I ended up going to Turkey and
Norway but had to skip Rome,
Portugal and Morocco.  The lines
are pretty confusing and we
actually double back over places
we've already been once we go
through Munich down to Ancona
Italy for our ferry to Greece so I
had to cheat on the lines a bit.  All
the blue lines are flights and the
black lines are land or boat travel.
Paris
We started our trip with a flight to London England.  From there we flew to Venice Italy, and then took a
train to
Innsbruck Austria.  From there we took a day trip into Fussen Germany and then headed south
on our way to
Dubrovnik Croatia and passed through Bosnia.  From there we headed north to Bled
Slovenia.  From there we went to
Hungary and then on into Transylvania Romania.  From there we went
back through Hungary,
Slovakia and finally into Prague.  After that we hopped a train to Krakow and
then up to Warsaw where we caught our bus through
Lithuania into Latvia.  After our stay there I went
solo into
Estonia and sailed to Stockholm Sweden where I caught a train to Oslo and then Bergen
Norway.  From there I flew into
Berlin Germany to meet my travel mates.  From there we went to
Amsterdam and then later to Brugge Belgium and down into Paris.

From there we took a night train to
Madrid Spain and then another quick train to Beautiful Barcelona.
From there we took a train along the French Riviera to
Nice with a day trip into Monaco.  From there we
headed back to Nice and then up to
Geneva, Bern and finally to breathtaking Interlaken.  From there we
day tripped to
Lucerne and Zurich and made our way to Munich.  Then we took another night train down
into Italy to
Ancona where we sailed to Patros Greece and made our way to Athens.  The next morning we
sailed to the Greek island of
Santorini where we stayed until I headed off solo again to Ephesus Turkey.
From there I caught a plane to
Istanbul where I stayed until my flight to Athens to catch another flight to
London where I would catch yet another surprise flight to
Vancouver Canada where we would be bused
back to Seattle.  101 days.

In all that travel I saw 26 countries, took 8 flights, 2 overnight cruise ferries, rode 6
smaller ferry boats,  4 night trains, 1 night bus, hailed roughly 10 cabs, hopped aboard
many trams, took dozens of bus trips, and spent countless hours riding dozens of trains.
